The International Panel on the Regulation of Autonomous Weapons (iPRAW) was an international, interdisciplinary, and independent network of researchers working on the issue of  lethal autonomous weapons systems (LAWS). It aimed at supporting the current debate within the UN CCW with scientifically grounded information and recommendations.

iPRAW has been publishing reports since 2017 and concluded its work in June 2022. You can find an interactive infographic summarizing iPRAW’s work here and a podacast feature here.

iPRAW was organized by Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik – The German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) (2017-2018 in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory). iPRAW received funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
