The International Panel on the Regulation of Autonomous Weapons (iPRAW) is an international, interdisciplinary, and independent network of researchers working on the issue of lethal autonomous weapons systems (LAWS). It aims at supporting the current debate within the UN CCW with scientifically grounded information and recommendations.
iPRAW has been publishing reports since 2017 and will continue its work until June 2022 with an ongoing focus on the issue of human control in the use of force. You can find an interactive infographic summarizing iPRAW’s work here:
iPRAW is organized by the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik – The German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) (2017-2018 in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory). The German Federal Foreign Office supports the panel financially.
